About the SAT® Exam
The SAT, owned and developed by the College Board, is a standardized test with a long history dating back to its first administration in 1926. Initially known as the Scholastic Aptitude Test, it has undergone several name and format changes over the decades. The current digital SAT is designed to assess high school students' readiness for college-level work through its Reading and Writing and Math sections. With its evolution, the SAT continues to serve as a widely used component in the college admissions process across the United States.
